Cravings!

This week has been very hard. I have been feeling kinda achy and run down. I keep craving carbs and chocolate alot. I am waking up in the middle of the night needing to eat! My workouts have been consistent....my body fat is very low...i can feel it....my face is looking flat....I decided to give in to my cravings...I rested this weekend and did no cardio. I try to listen to my body and give it what it needs. I want to stay on the healthy side of competing......My body seems to want rest, but it is not time yet, I have 6 more days until competition is here! I tried to read and watch movies.

I was sporting my sonic hat and flip flops and ankle bracelet today! People were asking what was up with all the sonic stuff? Some even went as far to say, "I know you don't eat that". I would correct them by saying, "Yes, as a matter of fact, I love their chicken tenders and tator tots and white gravy and their Cokes are delicious."......lol.....cheat food! Coming home from competitions last summer, we would stop at sonic alot! Thank you SONIC for sponsoring me in my competiotions this year! It is greatly appreciated! Posted by Picasa

Toney, on the left, is the manager of the Lone Star restaurant here in West Monroe. He is an awesome chef! When I go there, he prepares my meals exactly like I want it. I had the red snapper, shrimp and filet mignoin last time! It was awesome and allowed me to stay on my diet with no problems! I can't wait to go back! Posted by Picasa

2 Weeks out! On Track!

The past couple of days have been very intense. My focus on my diet and workouts are right on track! It is hard to concentrate on anything else. Focus is the key! School is almost over! I have been tempted so much to get off track of my diet! It is hard when the kids bring you stuff to eat all the time or when I have to give them a snack!

I decided to go to the river and socialize and relax today! It was so hot and humid. I brought my food and water with me but was still tempted to eat the pizza someone brought. It made things worse to see them put it right into my face and eat it after it was heated up in the microwave. Some people just don't understand why we figure competitors do what we do. I wish more people were involved in the sport here at home but they are not. Sometimes I feel like a loner because I do not go out shopping and eating and drinking all the time. I sometimes tell people I eat this way because of the way it makes me feel....The food we eat can have an effect on our mood and energy level also.....I did not work out today.....I worked out sooo hard this past week that I felt like I could afford a day off.....balance and moderation are the key to staying healthy! We went and ate shrimp after we got off the river....I stuck to my diet pretty good. Since shrimp is high in sodium, I expect to gain some weight in the morning.....I will start cutting salt down in my diet soon to keep from holding water and to get leaner.

what do you think? Should I cross the straps or not? This is my new 2 piece for the shows this year! Posted by Picasa

OH MY SUITS!!

My suits came in from Jagware! My 2 piece was fine.....needs some work on the top but my one piece bottoms were wayyyy tooo small and their were no hooks for the rhinestone crosses to go into! I paniked and called someone to help me out.....I took pics in it any way to get an idea of how it looks on me. What do you think?

A beautiful Monday!

Today was beautiful! I enjoyed sprinting and running stadiums this morning. The breeze felt nice! It's beginning to feel like Spring time now! The weather here has been so wacky lately! Sometimes I wished I lived up North where it is cooler but then I think about the snow and below freezing weather and decide, no way! I could definately live in Texas, Florida and Las Vegas! I feel like I belong in the atmosphere there! I love to visit as much as I can!

I did a light workout for Chest, shoulders and Triceps today:
1 set of Pushups to failure
Incline DB Pess 20# 1x15 followed by another set of pushups to failure
DB Shoulder Press 15# 3x15
seated side lateral raises 12# 3x12-15
front shoulder raises 12# 3x12-15
upright rows 12# 2x15-20 (burn out!!)
Dips supersetted with rope for triceps 2x15
Reverse cable Tricep extention 15-20# 3x15

I felt real good tonight after my workout. I weighed 124.5# this morning. My water intake is very high, a little over a gallon a day now. I am getting so excited!

Sunday Workout!

I usually dislike working out on Sunday's. It feels like it should be more of a resting day like the Lord has planned but today, I felt very energetic and worked out twice! Once in the morning and once in the afternoon! Cardio was fun! I listened and watched videos on launchcast.com while I rode my Elliptical rider at home. I did some abs and a Firm video tape for lower body! My diet is back on track. Today, I consumed only 1,050 calories, 144 grams of Protein, 81 carbs (Can you believe it?) 17 fat grams and 250 mg of sodium. My weight is 125.5# Things are going well!

3 Weeks out!!

Well, it's getting closer and closer.........I ordered my new suits this weekend from jagware. I can't wait to get them, hopefully next week some time.....My cardio was great today.....I felt good. I have been so tired lately. The past couple of nights I have slept pretty hard. We had Field Day yesterday and planning and getting ready for that wore me out I think....I am still struggling with my diet to get it exactly where I want it....My weight is between 124-127 now so something's working! My clothes are getting looser!

Mother's Day Weekend!

Mothers Day weekend was not good! I ate stuff I shouldn't have but am back on track today..my weight is between 126-128#..I went and got my hair permed today. It was an ISO perm, used for bleached and damaged hair. I haven't had a perm in forever. I think it looks great! I have decided to stay a brunette, my natural color, for the summer and competition. I hear brunettes are in right now. Too much blond washes me out. I am Italian! I had my nails and toes done......I feel the excitement of competition time drawing nearer!!...

Carbs were crazy but today I only had 50 grams and feel pretty good.....last week, I didn't lift at all but only got 2 cardio sessions in due to my hectic work schedule! Personal Training is BOOMING!! .....that hurt.....my weight is not moving!...but I haven't upped my cardio real hard yet either like I said I would....I did two 30 minute sessions today of cardio, one in the morning and one this afternoon achieving 6 total miles....I am eating more fish now and less egg whites, tuna and chicken....carbs are sweet potatoes and green beans and OATMEAL WITH SPLENDA (my fav right now)!!!

Cramps!

The past 3 days I have taken in 50 carbs, 220 grams of protein, 15-20 grams of fat and only about 1300 mg of sodium....Tonight I got the worst calf cramp...it is still tight and hurting.....I did 34 minutes of cardio this morn and 37 minutes tonight achieving 7 miles total. I am drinking a gallon of water daily, that 's including Crystal Light I will increase my potassium a little more. I have been outside about 3-4 hours a day teaching PE. It has been so hot and humid here already in MAY! They say this summer is going to be real bad. I may add more sodium back into my diet since I'm cramping. I was eating these packaged chicken breasts by Pilgrims Pride that had 300mg per breast. .....Like I said, take good notes on everything you do and assess yourself daily to see what's working, what's not and needs changing.
